I do not claim to be a top class palaeographer, but some letter-forms here took me by surprise. This is from the ‘title-page’ of the King’s Bench plea roll for Easter 1326 (courtesy of AALT – it’s KB 27/264 m.1)
Says ‘Warrewyk[e]’ = Warwick, but what on earth is going on with the letter R here? A bit of showing-off, it feels like
